With over 25 years of experience under her belt, and a dualled credentialisation in both Dietetics and Counselling, Helen is an expert within the realms of eating disorder management and treatment.

Meet Helen Dean, one of our ANZAED credentialised eating disorder Dietitians! As a seasoned allied health professional, Helen brings a wealth of knowledge around the complex nature of eating disorder treatment, one of our foundational passions as an organisation.

Holding a Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics, a Masters of Teaching and a Masters of Counselling, Helen earned her stripes from Deakin University and Monash University in 1999 and is a beacon of assurance through her versatile credentials.

Assisting in eating disorder treatment is a delicate process that requires a deep understanding of the emotional challenges individuals face. Helen’s genuine care and understanding of these illnesses, along with her ability to utilise both modalities within her treatment plans creates a versatile environment for recovery.

Helen specialises in offering counseling and dietetic support for individuals across the age spectrum, including children, adolescents, parents, and families dealing with various eating disorders. Her expertise extends to addressing eating and feeding challenges associated with neurodiversity also.

In addition to her work with eating-related concerns, Helen provides therapeutic support in a range of areas. This includes but is not limited to anxiety, trauma, depression, mood disorders, school refusal, and relationship issues. Her holistic approach aims to support individuals and families in navigating various psychological and nutritional aspects of their well-being.
