NDIS Counselling

Our NDIS-experienced counsellors can make a significant impact

At Nourished Counselling, our team of experienced counsellors are well-versed in providing mental health support and counselling services to individuals who are part of the NDIS scheme.

We understand that people with disabilities may encounter unique mental health challenges and that access to counseling can significantly enhance their overall well-being. Our counsellors have deep knowledge of NDIS guidelines and requirements, making them effective advocates for our clients.

The counsellors at Nourished Counselling are dedicated to improving the mental health and emotional well-being of NDIS participants. They offer personalised counselling services that address a range of mental health concerns while making counselling more affordable through the NDIS. By providing empathetic and evidence-based support, our counsellors help NDIS participants lead happier and healthier lives.

Our counsellors collaborate closely with NDIS participants to develop personalised counselling plans. These plans are designed to address specific mental health concerns, emotional well-being, and overall quality of life. Goals may include managing anxiety, depression, stress, or trauma.

One significant advantage of utilising counselling services through the NDIS is cost savings. Counselling sessions are available at a lower rate of $156.66, compared to the rate of $214.14 for psychologists. For participants in need of talk therapy and facing financial constraints, choosing counselling may be a more viable and affordable option.

Our counsellors are trained in trauma-informed care, recognising that some individuals with disabilities may have experienced trauma. They provide a safe and supportive environment for clients to process and heal from past traumas.

We understand that caregivers and families play a crucial role in the lives of NDIS participants. Our counsellors offer support and resources to help caregivers manage the emotional challenges they may encounter while providing care.

NDIS counselling is therapy provided by qualified counsellors, psychologists, or mental health professionals to help participants manage emotions, build coping strategies, and improve daily functioning. Counselling supports people living with psychosocial disability or mental health conditions to reach their NDIS goals.

Anyone with an approved NDIS plan that includes funding for Improved Daily Living or Improved Health and Wellbeing may be eligible. Counselling is usually accessed by people with psychosocial disability, mental illness, or emotional regulation challenges that impact their everyday life.

NDIS counselling can support participants with:

  • Anxiety, depression, and stress management

  • Trauma, grief, and adjustment issues

  • Emotional regulation and coping skills

  • Building self-esteem and confidence

  • Relationship and family challenges

  • Developing social and communication skills

Yes. NDIS counselling is commonly delivered via secure Telehealth sessions, making therapy accessible from anywhere in Australia. This is especially helpful for participants in rural or remote areas, or for those who find travel difficult.

  • Capacity Building – Improved Health and Wellbeing

  • Core Supports – Assistance with Daily Life

Your funding category will depend on your plan goals and the type of support recommended.

  • Counsellors provide therapeutic support to help with emotional, behavioural, and wellbeing challenges.

  • Psychologists can provide both counselling and more formal assessments or behavioural interventions.
Both may be funded under the NDIS if linked to your goals.

Yes. Family or carers may be included if the participant consents. Involvement can help reinforce strategies at home, improve communication, and provide extra support.

  • Improved mental health and wellbeing

  • Stronger coping and problem-solving skills

  • Better relationships and social participation

  • Increased independence and confidence

  • Ongoing support to achieve NDIS plan goals
